Omnipod 5 Starter Kit w/ PDM
Omnipod 5 Starter Kit w/ PDM
The OmniPod System has the same unique features you love - but now there’s even more built in. Improvements were made to the PDM to give you even more confidence and convenience in your diabetes management. See what some of the new PDM features can mean to you.
Benefits:
- Added Confidence with Insulin Delivery - Both meal bolus and correction bolus are now considered for Insulin on Board (IOB) when the suggested bolus calculator is turned on and being used. This allows you to easily see the amount of insulin still working in your body from previous boluses – and gives you that increased confidence when determining your next bolus dose.
- Personalize your PDM for Added Safety – and for Fun - You can now customize your PDM with the new ID screen by adding your name and a background color of your choice. Because you acknowledge the ID screen each time the PDM is powered on, you can be sure you have the right one before using it.
- Increased Wireless Communication - When activating a new Pod, it MUST now be placed to the right of and touching the PDM. For regular use, the communication distance between the Pod and PDM has increased to within 5 feet. So if you care for a child with diabetes, you now have more flexibility in where you can deliver a bolus, or adjust a basal or bolus program.
Features:
- PDM Shape and Color - Black with dark grey lens and buttons
- PDM ID Screen Configuration - PDM ID screen can be personalized by adding your name and choosing a background color.
- Communication Range (2 Modes) - During Startup: < 2 feet. PDM and Pod MUST BE side by side and touching during activation. During Normal Use: Within 5 feet.
- Insulin on Board (IOB) - When the suggested bolus calculator is turned on:
- Both the correction bolus and meal bolus are considered for IOB.
- Current IOB for meal and correction boluses are displayed separately when the user info/support button is pressed.
- Total IOB is now displayed on the PDM status screen.
- Daily Basal Total - Displays daily total volume of a programmed basal rate over a 24-hour period.
- Cancel an Extended Bolus - Ability to cancel an extended bolus while programming a new extended bolus.
- Bolus/Temp Basal Stopped Record - If a bolus or temp basal delivery is stopped, you’re able to see how much of that insulin delivery remained. This helps you decide if a new bolus or temp basal should be programmed.
- Vibration Mode - Added vibration mode to complement some existing reminders. Applies only to: BG Reminder, Missed Bolus Reminder, Custom Alerts, “No Active Pod” Alert.
- Backlight Dimming Timeout - 60 seconds.
- New Notification Names - Program Reminders, Confidence Reminders, Custom Reminders
- Manual BG Entry via Bolus Path - New prompt will save the BG value entered even if it can't be used for a suggested bolus.
